The Modern Man

Strength, Fitness and Headspace
Get Back to Feeling Like Yourself
The Modern Man is for men who know their health has slipped down the list and want to do something about it. You might still remember the version of yourself who played sport every weekend or trained regularly with mates, but work, family and responsibility have a way of taking over.
This program is not about trying to turn you back into the person you were at 25. It is about helping you feel stronger, fitter and more capable in the life you are living now, with training that works around real responsibilities rather than pretending they do not exist.

Real Life, Real Responsibilities
Life Got Busy. Training Fell Away.
For many men, fitness does not disappear because they stopped caring. It disappears gradually. A new job takes more time, children arrive, weekends fill up and suddenly training becomes something you keep meaning to get back to.
A few years can pass before you really notice the difference. Energy is lower, the body feels stiffer, clothes fit differently and the things that used to feel easy take more effort. The Modern Man gives you a practical way to start rebuilding without expecting you to train like a younger version of yourself.

More Than the Gym
Your Health Follows You Into the Rest of Your Life
Fitness affects more than how you look. It can influence how much energy you bring to work, how well you cope with long days, how confident you feel and how much patience you have left when you get home. When your physical health is neglected for long enough, the effects often show up in places that have nothing to do with the gym.
Training will not solve every problem, but it can give you structure, a physical outlet and a sense that you are moving forward again. For a lot of men, simply having something in the week that is positive, productive and entirely for themselves makes a noticeable difference.

Carrying the Load
Sometimes You Need Somewhere to Put the Pressure
Men are often very good at carrying stress without really acknowledging it. Work pressure, financial responsibility, family expectations and the feeling that there is always something else to deal with can build up over time.
Exercise is not a replacement for professional mental health care, but it can be a useful part of looking after yourself. Training gets you away from the desk and the screen, gives you a physical focus and puts you around other people who are doing something constructive for their own health. Sometimes that routine and connection are exactly what have been missing.

Training Focus
What You Will Work On
The Modern Man is built around improving the things that make a practical difference to everyday life. That includes:
01
Strength
Practical strength that carries over into everyday life — not just numbers on a bar, but capability you can actually use.
02
Cardiovascular Fitness
Building your engine back up, so effort feels easier — whether that’s social sport, a flight of stairs or keeping up with the kids.
03
Mobility
Keeping joints and movement healthy as your training load increases, so progress doesn’t come at the cost of nagging niggles.
04
Movement Quality
Training that moves well before it moves heavy — the foundation that keeps you training consistently for years, not weeks.
05
Energy
More in the tank for work, for family and for the things you actually want to do once the working day is done.
06
Physical Confidence
Feeling capable in your body again — comfortable in your clothes, steady on your feet, and confident in what you can do.
The aim is to help you feel more capable, not just more exhausted.
Your training can also give you a better sense of consistency and accountability. When the rest of life is busy, having a regular place to show up and a coach who knows what you are working towards can make it easier to keep your health from sliding back down the list.
Flexible Support
Choose the Support You Need
The Modern Man is available through Small Group Training and Semi-Private Personal Training. Both are coach-led. The difference is how personalised you want the program to be and how much individual attention you need.
Capped at 12
Small Group Training
Small group sessions are capped at 12 people and combine professional coaching with the energy of training around others. Sessions may include strength, conditioning, functional performance, hybrid training, mobility, yoga and meditation.
This is a good option if you like variety, enjoy the social side of training and want enough structure to keep you accountable without needing your own individual program.
Max 3 People
Semi-Private Personal Training
Semi-private training gives you your own program with a coach working with no more than three people at a time. That allows for closer technique support, more detailed progression and regular check-ins without the cost of traditional one-to-one personal training.
It can be especially useful if you have specific goals, are returning after injury or a long break, or simply know that you do better when someone is paying closer attention to your progress. You can also train with a friend, colleague or family member.

It Only Needs to Matter to You
What Do You Want Back?
The answer may be different for every man. You might want to feel comfortable in your clothes again, have more energy for the kids, get back into social sport or stop feeling as though you spend every weekend recovering from the working week. You might simply want to be able to say that you train again, rather than talking about what you used to do.
Your reason does not need to sound impressive. It only needs to matter enough for you to start.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I have not trained for years?
That is completely normal. Your starting point can be adjusted and the program can build gradually as your fitness returns.
Is this only for men over 35?
The program is aimed at adult men balancing work, family and other responsibilities. If the message sounds like you but you are outside that age range, speak with the team and we can help you work out the right option.
Do I need to be fit before joining?
No. The point of the coaching is to help you begin at the level you are currently at.
Can I train with a mate?
Yes. Semi-private personal training can be a great option if you and a friend, colleague or family member want to train together.
Is this a mental health program?
No. The Modern Man is a health and fitness program. Exercise may support general wellbeing, but it is not a substitute for professional mental health care.

Build for the Man You Are Now
You do not need to become the person you were at 25. You need the strength, fitness and energy required by the person you are now, the one with responsibilities, people relying on him and plenty of life still ahead.
